I’ve had a passion for language since I can remember. There’s just something about the power of words that has me captive to this day. Knowledge, comedy, love and even lies, they all travel through words.

At university I studied Hispanic Language (grammar and linguistics) and Literature (the history and analysis of it). That’s when my teaching journey began. I wanted to share that love with as many people as possible, so I specialized in Promotion of Reading. I would travel with other classmates to different schools and bring storytelling, writing, movies and music to students. It wasn’t just about teaching them grammar; it was about showing them the power of words and of good stories. A lot of them started to see reading and writing with different eyes. It changed from being a school subject to becoming a fun place of freedom. That experience made me realize I loved to teach and wanted to do more of it. 

A lot in life has changed for me since then. I even live in a different country now. But that didn’t change my desire for sharing my love for the spanish language. That is how I decided to start Quiero Leer en Español. My mission is helping students truly master Spanish. However, I don’t do this by setting never ending homework or boring grammar drills, I do this by giving vocabulary shape and connection to real life. I do this by using visual and engaging content that stays. I do this by working carefully with a method that doesn’t overload your brain with information, it gives it the proper space and structure so whatever you learn today, you will still remember next year, and the next.

That being said, I hope you will allow me to be your guide into the wonderful world of Spanish! Both experience and knowledge that you will never forget.
